From a Little Girl Singing Country Songs… to Quilting Music on Amazon Music
If you’d told little-kid me that one day I’d be releasing an album—music people could play while they quilt, cook, drive, or gather with friends—I would’ve believed you instantly… because I was always singing.
My earliest music memories are wrapped up in family. My grandfather would sit down with his guitar, and I’d sing right along with him.

It didn’t take long before I knew the country songs by heart. I sang them morning, noon, and night—whether anyone asked for a concert or not. (Spoiler: they did not always ask.)
Music kept following me as I grew up. I sang in school choir, worked hard at it, and even won awards.

Eventually, I was invited to the Crane School of Music as a vocalist—one of those moments that feels like a door swinging wide open.

And then… I surprised myself.
Because as much as I loved music, I realized I loved mathematics too. Deeply. The kind of love that grabs your brain and refuses to let go. I moved into the mathematics program, and that decision led me into a long career as a computer programmer—problem-solving, building systems, creating structure out of complexity.
I didn’t completely leave music behind. I still sang in choruses. I joined a folk group and performed at venues here and there. (and no, I cannot explain the hair style)

But if I’m being honest, for most of my adult life, music moved into the background. It was still in me—but it wasn’t center stage anymore.
And then quilting brought it back.
When I started The Quilters Retreat, something unexpected happened: my love of music came rushing back, and it came back through quilting.
Quilters are joyful people. Funny people. Creative people. People who can turn scraps into beauty, and stress into calm, and an ordinary Tuesday into “I stayed up too late sewing again but it was worth it.”
I started writing songs for fellow quilters because it made me smile. And I hoped it would make you smile too.
At first, the music videos were just a fun idea—something playful to share with the quilting community. And they got a lot of views on YouTube! People laughed, shared, and told me they were watching them while quilting or sending them to quilting friends.

And that’s when I realized:
This wasn’t just “content.”
This was community.
Why AI music?
Here’s the part I want to say carefully, because it matters.
Over time, my voice simply isn’t what it used to be. That’s life. Voices change, bodies change, seasons shift. But the need to create music—oh, that didn’t go anywhere.
AI music gave me a way back into songwriting and producing without requiring my voice to carry the full weight of every track. It didn’t replace my creativity—it unlocked it.
With these new tools, I could:
- write lyrics that sound like quilters (because… we have a language all our own)
- shape the vibe of a song (playful, cozy, spooky, sweet, heartfelt)
- experiment with styles (bubblegum rock, folk, jazzy, seasonal… you name it)
- and turn ideas into full songs much faster than traditional production would allow
In a way, it let me become the “conductor” again—guiding the story, the mood, the humor, the heart—so I could create more music for the people I’m making it for.
And honestly? It brought me so much joy.
Quilting songs for every season (and every mood)
I’ve had the absolute best time creating celebration music for quilting:
- Christmas quilting songs
- Halloween quilting songs
- Thanksgiving quilting songs
- and everyday quilting anthems that just make me grin
Some are cozy and pretty. Some are silly and loud. Some are meant to be played while you sew. Some are perfect for quilting bees and meetings—because what’s a gathering of quilters without a little extra fun?

Our first album is officially released!
And now… I’m thrilled to say it:
Our first album has been published, and you can find it on all streaming platforms!
I’m honestly a little emotional about it. This feels like a full-circle moment—from that little girl singing along to a guitar… to music made for quilters all over the world.
Tell me what you love (so I can make more)
If you listen, I would love to hear from you:
- Which songs made you laugh?
- Which ones felt cozy and comforting?
- Which one is your “play it again” favorite?
Your feedback helps me know what to create next—because my goal is simple:
To bring more fun, more comfort, and more joy to the quilting world… one song at a time.
Thank you for being part of this creative adventure with me. And truly—thank you for letting me celebrate quilting in such a musical way.
Now go press play… and stitch something wonderful. 💛
