It’s hard to believe, but The Quilter’s Retreat Store has turned one! 🎉
Twelve months of sketching designs, sipping from prototype mugs, chasing threads (literally), and learning everything we can about building a small business that celebrates quilting and community.

And today, we’re proud to share something that’s been close to our hearts from day one:

We just made our first official donation to Project Linus. 💛

✂️ Stitching Comfort Into the World

If you’re not familiar with Project Linus, they’re a nonprofit that delivers handmade quilts and blankets to children who are ill, traumatized, or in need of comfort.
They’ve wrapped millions of children in handmade love — and we knew from the very beginning that if we ever made it through year one, we wanted to be a small part of that effort.

Thanks to your support — your purchases, shares, follows, kind words, and fabric-loving enthusiasm — we were finally able to make it happen. We’ve donated $100 from our store’s first year to help further Project Linus’s mission.

We know $100 might not sound like a lot — but for a small shop in its very first year (and one that’s still hand-financing everything from mugs to mailers), it means a lot to us.
This donation represents something bigger: a promise kept. A dream that started in a sketchbook, stitched into action, and now reaching real kids through Project Linus.

And as we grow, we’re committed to giving more.

🧵 Our Commitment Going Forward

From the start, we promised that 5% of profits would go toward charitable causes like Project Linus and The Linus Connection. While our first year was full of startup costs — from design tools to product testing, packaging, and all the behind-the-scenes building blocks — this milestone marks the beginning of our ongoing commitment to give back.

We believe in stitching comfort into everything we do — and that includes supporting organizations that do the same on a much bigger scale.
