Quilting News for 10/6/2024 from The Quilters Retreat.Store

Hello Quilting Friends,

Hope you've had a week full of beautiful stitches, quilt inspiration, and creative joy with your quilting community! This week, I've got something especially delightful to share with you all—a little bit of quilting magic from the Portneuf Valley Quilters Guild.

The guild recently hosted their Annual Quilt Festival at the Mountain View Event Center in Pocatello, and it was every bit as wonderful as you might imagine. This Pocatello quilt event, organized by the Portneuf Valley Quilters Guild, is a true celebration of quilting artistry. This quilt show, which happens every two years, is a celebration of the artistry and creativity that quilting brings to the community. Debi McHugh from the guild described it perfectly, saying it's a way to showcase the talents of quilters and share the art of quilting with the wider community. There were volunteers from all over, each bringing their unique stories and artistic flair to the show. If you want a peek at the festival, be sure to check out this video featuring stunning pictures of the quilts displayed.

Also, have you ever noticed that a pile of quilts is one of the most beautiful things in the world?  Well in a delightful exploration of the world of quilting, the article "Blanket Statement" from the Columbia Basin Herald highlights how quilts are not just cozy creations but also powerful symbols of community and connection. It shares heartwarming stories of local quilters coming together to craft beautiful blankets that provide warmth and comfort to those in need, showcasing their creativity and compassion. The piece encourages readers to embrace their quilting passions while also reminding them of the impact their handiwork can have on others. So grab your favorite fabric, gather your friends, and dive into this inspiring read—it's a patchwork of joy waiting for you! Don't miss out; follow the link to discover more!
